You probably have heard of a website called "Pinterest." You may have even have an account or have an invite sitting in your email. I have been on Pinterest for about a yearish.. (I cant remember exactly when I joined...) but for some reason I love it. I love getting on and looking, I do admit sometimes I spend way too much time on it. So why is it such a big sensation? and what the heck is it?
- So basically its an online "collage"-where you "pin" links and photos of your favorite stuff — food, clothing, tips — onto a virtual bulletin board.
Pinterest is seeming to be more for women, between 25-44.
Ladies are planning out weddings (even if they dont even have an engagement ring... or a boyfriend for that matter)
Of course there is many ideas that people have posted about food, recipes, ideas, tips.
Many frequent the area for their kids, to find inspiration for decorating, games and tips for kiddos.
lots of ideas for the home, organization, remodel ideas,
then of course the fashion, clothing combinations, and ideas and whatnot.
Theres ideas for travel, some places I've never heard of, I really want to go to now because they are so interesting.
You can post your own stuff on to Pinterest, as well as pin stuff from the internet ... Say you found a magificent recipe on a blog... you want to Share the world about this fantastic recipe... so you "pin it"- Simply at the top of the "pinterest" page, Click on "add" then post the link in the space.
If you want to upload your own picture or something from your computer, then Click "Add" then "upload pin"
Ok, now to repin, Pins... so you have these boards, some come provided when you make your account, you can also create your own categories... basically on these boards to organize all the stuff that you are going to repin or pin.
so lets say you found a recipe that someone already posted on Pinterest, you then drag your mouse over that picture and some things come up at top of the picture click on "repin" then select which "board"you want to put it on, then you can write your own comments on it, if you'd like. then "pin"
Browsing. you can browse by Searching in the search bar - lets say you are looking for a recipe... type in "recipes" - or "chicken" or "chocolate" or whatever.
- you can also browse by the links at the top of the page, whether you just want to look at stuff from people you follow, stuff in certain categories or videos, or whats popular or gifts.
I love pinterest. i really do have lots of fun with it, I have a ton of ideas, from it, just a matter of actually doing it.
